If you’re here, it means you are interesting in making money online using the best blogging platform man kind has ever seen and you either didn’t make any money online so far or you’re simply trying to improve your marketing skills.
Either way, you’ve just come to the right place: the WordPress How To Planet.
Our guest today is an ebook, an astonishing collection of ways you can cash-in your blog (if you have one), four simple ways that can make you forget your current life as you know it at the moment. In fact, they’re so simple you don’t ever think about them… yet… very POWERFUL.
I’m telling you, this is just brilliant and it won’t take you more than a couple minutes to implement, so I strongly believe it’ll be worth your time ;)
I mean … you can keep on struggling with your current … whatever you were doing, or you could check out this website and become a successful internet marketer. Now it’s your turn. Make your choice, I made mine and I don’t regret every single penny.
As you probably know, when you download WordPress, it comes with one or 2 default themes that nobody uses anymore, because they’re too “default” :) So do you!
Therefore, the next step is to find a WordPress Theme that fits your needs the most. From what I’ve seen so far, a high percentage of WordPress Themes are pretty basic and not so well done, so you probably won’t be too happy with them.
Now… the big question is… what do they offer? What kind of options do you get? With free themes you get almost nothing, where as premium themes giveyou the possibility of adding personal informations, put banners, adsense, easily track your website, etc. etc.
Let’s take, for example, the Socrates theme, recently released. They give you

I know why you are here :) It’s either because you didn’t find what you were looking for in your admin panel or you wanted to ask me a question.
Ok, here’s the deal: wordpress.org and wordpress.com isn’t the same thing.
The .org one is the platform, the application. It’s exactly like any little program you install on your machine, with the only difference that it runs online, somewhere on a server (I’m not going to explain here what a server is). You download it, install it, then start posting, changing options, themes, installing plugins yada yada… about anything you can think of.
The .com one is basically the same thing, just that it isn’t the same thing :). It’s already installed, you just need to signup and you’re setup and ready to go. Now… the big problem here is you don’t have to pay for hosting or to struggle installing anything anywhere, you just get to your admin panel and start playing there… I know, this doesn’t sound like a problem at all. Yes it does. At some point, you might need something that wordpress.com doesn’t offer, or even worse, you might find out your blog got deleted for some reason.
So, my advice is to go the hard way, your own domain way.

If you didn’t know how to make blogging and twitter meet, check these out:
Add to Any (plugin) – Help readers share, save, bookmark, and email your posts and pages using any service, such as Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Delicious, and over 100 more social bookmarking and sharing sites. The button comes with Add to Any’s customizable Smart Menu, which places the services visitors use at the top of the menu, based on each visitor’s browsing history.
TweetMe (plugin) – Automatically shrinks and sends your url to twitter and lets your users share your content on twitter. There is also a non-wordpress version located here
TwitPress – Submits a user definable tweet to your twitter account notifying any twitter followers or friends that a new blog entry has been published on your blog (or an existing published entry has been edited). Supports inclusion of a permalink to your blog posting in the tweet.
TwitterCounter – Allows you to integrate TwitterCounter badges on your blog.
TwitThis – TwitThis is an easy way for people to send Twitter messages about your blog post or website.
MyTwitter – MyTwitter allows users to display their recent Twitter status updates (tweets) on their WordPress site and update their status through the Options page. Includes customization options including number of recent twitters to display, formatting options, and stylesheets. It can be called as a function or used as a widget.
I copy-pasted some of the descriptions from their original websites, I hope you don’t mind :)
Try’em out, enjoy them, and don’t forget to comment on this post.
We’ll talk a little about mobile clients, email clients, IM, widgets, etc, as we know twitter supports updating by phone and many other ways. Actually this is what twitter was built for, to give the users the possibility to update their status from anywhere, even if they don’t have internet connection.
As for mobile clients (I’m not talking about updating by SMS, that’s supported by every cell phone, but regular apps that you can install and run from your mobile):
TwitterBerry – It works over the data network, so you don’t need to use SMS
TwitterMail – Tweet via email, its name says everything
There are also few widgets and addons supported by firefox and opera, if you need any of them simply google for “firefox twitter add-on” or “opera….” and you’ll find plenty of them for sure.
Today we’re going to talk about tools that’ll help you get info from twitter to use for market research, your curiosity, new blog posts, statistics, etc (leave it to your imagination)
TweetScan – They claim to be an all-in-one solution. It can search on twitter, identi.ca and many more.
Retweetist – If you’re ranked on this website, this means your tweet is being retweeted a lot
TwitBuzz.com – It was suffering last time when I tried it
FellowCost – Find out how annoying will be to follow a specific user on twitter. Pretty funny :)
TweetWheel – Find out how many of your friends know each other
Qwitter – Sends you a message when someone stops following you on twitter. Useful if you don’t have thousands of followers. And I hope it doesn’t do it by crawling all your followers …
Who should I follow – Gives you suggestions of who you should follow by studying your tweets (I think)
SocialToo – I’ve said before about this. It’s pretty cool, you can auto follow your latest followers or send them direct messages. It also gives daily reports on who followed or unfollowed you during the last 24hrs
Tweepler – Uhm … not very impressed with this one. I’d love a bulk remove feature for those who aren’t following me. Guys, if you see this, add it. PS: I like your color scheme
TwitDir – Off for maintenance, lol. I’m feeling that “site down” effect again.
Tweelow – Twitter yellow pages (never thought I’ll see this)
Just Tweet It – Find other twitters like you ( I think based on your posts).
Anyway, play with them and let me know which one to delete :)
