We’ll talk a little about mobile clients, email clients, IM, widgets, etc, as we know twitter supports updating by phone and many other ways. Actually this is what twitter was built for, to give the users the possibility to update their status from anywhere, even if they don’t have internet connection.

As for mobile clients (I’m not talking about updating by SMS, that’s supported by every cell phone, but regular apps that you can install and run from your mobile):

  • TwitterBerry – It works over the data network, so you don’t need to use SMS
  • TwitterMail – Tweet via email, its name says everything
  • OutTwit – Update via outlook
  • TwitterIM – Same as Tiwttermail

There are also few widgets and addons supported by firefox and opera, if you need any of them simply google for “firefox twitter add-on” or “opera….” and you’ll find plenty of them for sure.

See ya next time!

This is probably the funniest part of twitter tools, the desktop clients. You can get your replies / messages without destroying your F5 key on your keyboard :)

So, my help for you on this issue:

  • Twhirl – I started using it few days ago and I must say I enjoyed playing with it. The coolest thing seems to be the retweet button (not present on twitter.com)
  • TweetDeck – Many say it’s crashing, I didn’t try it to be honest, but it seems promissing
  • GTwitter – As almost every software on this planet, the twitter desktop clients have an equivalent for linux as well
  • Witty – Twitter for Vista
  • TwitterPod – Twitter client for mac. I don’t have a mac so I didn’t try it.
  • Twitterific – Another one for mac
  • Snitter – This one has a version for Mac and Windows as well. Didn’t try it but seems to be cool

If you’re using other desktop clients, simply reply to this post and I’ll be happy to add them here.

Today we’re going to talk about tools that’ll help you get info from twitter to use for market research, your curiosity, new blog posts, statistics, etc (leave it to your imagination)

  • TweetScan – They claim to be an all-in-one solution. It can search on twitter, identi.ca and many more.
  • Retweetist – If you’re ranked on this website, this means your tweet is being retweeted a lot
  • TwitBuzz.com – It was suffering last time when I tried it
  • TwitScoop – Hottest twitter trends
  • TweetBeep – Keep track of you conversations, your messages, etc
  • TweetNews – News ranked based on related tweets
  • Monitter – Real Time twitter monitor

Enjoy! :)

Manage your tweeties and find more using these services.

  • TwitterLocal – Filter tweets by location
  • FellowCost – Find out how annoying will be to follow a specific user on twitter. Pretty funny :)
  • TweetWheel – Find out how many of your friends know each other
  • Qwitter – Sends you a message when someone stops following you on twitter. Useful if you don’t have thousands of followers. And I hope it doesn’t do it by crawling all your followers …
  • Who should I follow – Gives you suggestions of who you should follow by studying your tweets (I think)
  • SocialToo – I’ve said before about this. It’s pretty cool, you can auto follow your latest followers or send them direct messages. It also gives daily reports on who followed or unfollowed you during the last 24hrs
  • Tweepler – Uhm … not very impressed with this one. I’d love a bulk remove feature for those who aren’t following me. Guys, if you see this, add it. PS: I like your color scheme
  • TwitDir – Off for maintenance, lol. I’m feeling that “site down” effect again.
  • Tweelow – Twitter yellow pages (never thought I’ll see this)
  • Just Tweet It – Find other twitters like you ( I think based on your posts).

Anyway, play with them and let me know which one to delete :)

Save your time and resources using these tools I’m going to name today.

  • TweetDeck – it has tome interesting functions that will help you be more efficient in following people you really want to follow… and it’s stealth :)
  • TwitResponse – twitter+autoresponder = twitresponse
  • Tweet O’Clock – will help you find the best time to get your followers attention. Find out when it’s the best time to tweet someone
  • TweepSearch – search through your followers
  • FriendOrFollow – who’s not following you back? who aren’t you following?
  • Twalala – If you’re getting spammed with lots of stupid messages, you can put some of your friends on mute using this tool
  • TwitterSnooze – almost the same with twalala
  • JustSignal.com – filter the tweets and receive only the ones you’re interested in, based on certain keywords.

Enjoy, and don’t forget to signup to be updated when a new post is made on this list.

Twitter Tools – Part 4 – Sharing Tools

Hey :)

This is the 4th part of the twitter tools sharing process. In total, I think there will be around 14 or 15 posts related to twitter on this blog, so make sure you bookmark it .

Ok, today’s topic: sharing tools – I am going to name a few websites that will help you promote your business, share links and picture, etc … so, here we go:

  1. Tweetburner – Create links, share links and track them (only if you’re registered)
  2. OdURL – URL Shrink service again. It doesn’t have analytics yet, but it outputs very short urls
  3. Ping.fm – Update all your social networks at once
  4. TweeTube – Like its name says “share videos on twitter”
  5. TwitPic – Image sharing for twitter … moving to a new datacenter lol … why is everybody down when I check them?
  6. Ioj – An alternative to twitpic. I didn’t test it, let me know if it’s any good :)
  7. TwitterHawk – They say it is arguably the most targeted marketing that you can take advantage of .. let’s see
  8. Acamin – File sharing again
  9. Twiggit – twiggit is an automated service that lets your friends on twitter know what articles you digg.

Got 2 more from my twitter friends (both image sharing sites) :

  1. Tinypic
  2. SnapTweet

That’s it for today. Happy twitting ;)

Cheers!

Ready for the next set? The post name says everything, so here you go:

  1. My Tweeple – Using this tool, you can manage your followers and who you’re following.
  2. Twitter100 – Almost the same. Check your followers
  3. TwitterLocal – Helps you get tweets from a specific geographic area
  4. FriendFeed – See what your tweeple are sharing now
  5. Twitter Karma – Helps you manage your followers, who you’re following and gives you the possibility to bulk remove them. To be hones, I didn’t see it working lately, or maybe
  6. Quotably – Follow Twitter Conversations (I didn’t really test this)
  7. TweetMeme – Hottest stories on twitter
  8. TwitterWho – It’s temporarily disabled right now, you might want to check it later
  9. GroupTweet – Group message broadcasting for Twitter
  10. Who Should I Follow – Suggestions on interesting people to follow.
  11. TweetWheel – Find out which of your Twitter friends know each other!

There were few more, but they weren’t up or running fine, so I didn’t include them in this list. Enjoy and share it

As promised, here’s the part 2 of this short e-course. Today we’re going to talk about tools that help you analyse your twitter data and your friends stats.

So, here we go:

  1. Retweetrank – A nice tool to find out how many people are retweeting you and how many retweet others.
  2. Twitterholic – By using this tool, you can find out the most active twitter users and discover your twitter stats as well. It’s cool, check it out.
  3. TweetStats – Like its name says, a twitter stats tool, with graphs & stuff … cool as well
  4. TweetWasters – This can really help you optimize your time spent because it calculates the time you spend and … waste on twitter :)
  5. Tweet-Rank – Tweak your tweets quality by using this tool and noticing which one generated you new followers and which one let you without some of them

I think 5 of them is enough for now, I’ll post the next small collection tomorrow or the day after. You have enough time to test and play with these ones until then.

Take care
